As a follow-up to the info I learned from my visit to Uncle Lester…a friend tipped me off that (unlike Marrickville) the Woollahra council does NOT do the “acknowledgement of country” thing. In fact, in a recent meeting, the councillors voted against a motion to acknowledge the Cadigal people as the traditional owners of the land which the council now occupies.
